How lost can she be?
I love mystery films,
TV shows and games. Who killed Dr. Black? I think it was Reverend Green with
the Dagger in the Kitchen?
Blake Lively and Anna
Kendrick’s A Simple Favor is the
mystery film I have been waiting for all my life. The intriguing story and
characters caught my attention from the moment I saw the first scene and that
already says a lot.
The movie is unlike
anything I have seen in cinema over the last few years. It is not a major
blockbuster, but it is also not a cult indi film. It is something of its own
and it gives off various powerful messages.
Director, Paul Feig
and writer, Jessica Sharzar knew exactly how to translate the story to the big
screen from the book it is based upon. The plot twists and the pefomances of
Blake and Anna is something I will never forget.
The movie tells the
story of a mommy vlogger, Stephanie (Anna) who seeks to uncover the truth
behind her disappearance of her best friend, Emily, a rich PR director (Blake).
During her investigations uncovers things she never expected.
My Verdict
The movie is a much
watch for all audiences who are old enough to watch it. Like I said it sends
out strong messages that make for excellent story telling. It is however not
without flaws, but they can easily be ignored. So if you are planning a ladies
night or a night of suspense, then this is definitely the movie you should go
see.
Rating: 8.5/10 – Love
