Paul Rudd lives with himself
Ever wished you can be
in two places at once? To take just take the day off while someday else goes
into the office to do your work?
Miles Elliot, played
by Paul Rudd, gets this opportunity when he gets cloned in Living with Yourself. This Netflix series takes a weird turn when
Miles, a down on his luck man goes to a day spa to become a better person.
Things go horribly wrong when make wakes up in a shallow grave and discovers
that a clone has taken over his life.
That is when the
comedy starts, Mike wants his life back, but he does not want all the
responsibilities that go along with it. New Mike steps up, but they start
butting heads and only one Mike can come out on top.
The show is a lot of
funny moments and is made better with Paul Rudd’s charm. He does great doing a
double lead role and it is easy to distinguish between the two Miles. The fact
that you only get eight 30-minute episodes makes it easy to binge watch.
The plot captures you
from the start, because you just want to know what will happen next. Living
with Yourself is really well written, as all characters are fleshed out to
the point where they become relatable.
You get to see what
life will be like if human cloning becomes a real thing. They also look at the
ethical complications of cloning and fake businesses. The series creator
Timothy Greenberg brings something new to the table, instead of just reusing
comedy materials from old shows and movies.
The show might seem
family friendly at first, but as it progress it turns into something for mature
audiences only. This is the Paul Rudd from Ant-Man, this is an adult role for
him. Living with Yourself is an
exceptionally good show and I can easily it being renewed by Netflix. It does
end off with a major cliff-hanger like most Netflix shows.
