The last one down
Over the years we have
seen Gerard Butler trying to protect the president, but now he has to step up
for himself.
Angel Has Fallen takes a new stand and turns the odds against Mike
Banning, played by Gerard Butler. He has to take care of himself now and clear
his name and of course fights break out and death follows him everywhere he
goes.
I loved London Has Fallen for its incredible
action set-pieces, but let’s be honest, it wasn’t a really good movie. It
lacked good storytelling and so much more, luckily Angel Has Fallen fixes that, well it tries.
The movie isn’t
exactly a masterpiece, but it does deliver where it counts. Butler once again
makes the best the best of his leading role and helps you forget about plot
holes or a confusing tone. For a few moments you actually enjoy the ass-kicking
and drama.
I’m totally into
action movies and this one did not disappoint when it came to that. The
filmmakers however missed a lot of big opportunities, but it is probably too
late to tell them now. Two good things about the movie are, well Gerard Butler
and Morgan Freeman.
Authorities take
Secret Service agent Mike Banning into custody for the failed assassination
attempt of U.S. President Allan Trumbull. After escaping from his captors,
Banning must evade the FBI and his own agency to find the real threat to the
president. Desperate to uncover the truth, he soon turns to unlikely allies to
help clear his name and save the country from imminent danger.
My Verdict
Don’t go into the
cinema expecting the action movie of the year, we don’t want to see you
disappointed. Just go in and enjoy what you see, believe me the lower your
expectations the more you will enjoy it. It is a fun popcorn movie and I can
see myself watching it again in the near future.
My Rating: 6.2 out of
10 – Good
