She is the Captain Now!

Captain Marvel made its landing in theatres all across the world this weekend and it exceeded the world’s expectations.
The movie had a rough start with internet trolls trying to bring it down, but the captain kept on fighting. At the moment it is the highest grossing international film worldwide after just three-days. I figure it broke some records already.
Brie Larsons starts as the titular character and she certainly does not disappoint. I once again entered the theatre with low expectations, but come out somewhat satisfied. It might not be the best solo origin MCU movie, but it certainly ranks as one of the best superhero movies of the decade.
It took Marvel years to produce their first female-led movie and it obviously impressed millions of people. In all honesty, the movie is not perfect. It gets a little dull at moment and it might feel as if the character is being pushed down our throats. But it still manages to hold onto the awesome Marvel-formula we all love.
The villains are interesting and so are the supporting characters. It is so awesome to see a young Nick Fury building himself up to eventually become the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. The films Skrulls are also not what we expected and to ma that is a good thing.
Captain Marvel has some of the best CGI battles I have seen in years (other than Avengers: Infinity War of course). The character development and story leaves open the door for future sequels and that’s probably one of the few things fans hated, but I in-turn loved. Like I said, it is not perfect, but it is definitely some blockbuster fun.
Captain Marvel is an extraterrestrial Kree warrior who finds herself caught in the middle of an intergalactic battle between her people and the Skrulls. Living on Earth in 1995, she keeps having recurring memories of another life as U.S. Air Force pilot Carol Danvers. With help from Nick Fury, Captain Marvel tries to uncover the secrets of her past while harnessing her special superpowers to end the war with the evil Skrulls.

My Verdict
Captain Marvel is like no other MCU movie that came before it, yet it perfectly fits between all of them. It is fun, witty, filled with action and drama. It is filled with 90s nostalgia, which made me miss my childhood. So far one of the best movies of 2019 and it perfectly sets up what’s to come in Avengers: Endgame. So if you need a little superhero action, then I suggest you go see Captain Marvel right now!

My Rating: 8.8/10 – Love It!
