Everything Is Still Awesome
Emmet and the other characters from Bricksburg
are back after five years and this time they have to take on a new formidable foe.
The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part has been out for a while now and believe me
when I say, everything is still awesome. The fourth movie in The Lego Movie
franchise definitely delivers and was worth the wait.
All the jokes and childhood innocence from the
first movie is explored again and although it is a little played out, it is
still fun to watch. The main cast including Chris Pratt, Will Arnett, and
Elizabeth Banks are joined by Tiffany Haddish and Stephanie Beatriz.
The movie is fun and great to watch, but unfortunately
it just cannot top the feeling of its predecessor. To be fair the first movie
was a unique story for all cinema goers and it would have been hard to top.
Nonetheless the new movie expands on the
universe, giving us a better inside of what the franchise can become. Characters
like the Lego Batman and Emmet are once again a scene stealer. Overall the
movie is one of the best animated features of 2019.
The citizens of Bricksburg face a dangerous new
threat when LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space start to wreck everything in
their path. The battle to defeat the enemy and restore harmony to the LEGO
universe takes Emmet, Lucy, Batman and the rest of their friends to faraway,
unexplored worlds that test their courage and creativity.
My Verdict
The franchise lost some of its groove, but it
still does not disappoint. This movie is something fun for the whole family and
might just leave you wanting for more. Be prepared to laugh till your tummy
hurts and to have your heart stole by tiny Lego figurines.
My Rating: 7.6/10 – Really Good.
