Looking forward to May
April has had a successful box-office with major blockbusters like Avengers: Infinity War and the Dwayne
Johnson led Rampage.
May will
prove to be another big month in cinema as a few sequels to previous huge
blockbusters will be released. These movies might not be as successful as their
predecessors, but at the same time they are some of the most anticipated films
of 2018.
Tully
The comedy-drama
starts Charlize Theron and it follows the friendship of a mother of three with
her children’s babysitter. The movie has already received raving reviews, which
means Charlize might be up for another Oscar nomination. The film is expected
in theatres later this month.
Life of the
Party
The Melissa
McCarthy led comedy film will have an ensemble cast. It follows Deanna Miles, a
housewife who gets dumped by her husband. She then decides to return to
university and she ends up at the same campus as her daughter, which leads to
hilarious moments. The movie will make its way to cinemas from 11 May.
Deadpool 2
The
superhero comedy will pick up where the last movie ended. Ryan Reynolds is
again starring and this time he is putting together a team of soldiers to fight
against time travelling mutant, Cable. If the trailers prove to be an accurate
display of what the movie will be like, then we are all in for a fun and crazy
ride. The movie will be in theatres on 18 May.
Solo: A
Star Wars Story
The Star
Wars prequel will focus on fan-favourite character, Han Solo. Aldan Ehrenreich portrays
the titular hero and he takes over from Harrison Ford. The movie has received
criticism, but it has all changed after the release of a few trailers. The
movie is described as a space western and it focuses on young Han Solo’s first
adventures with his Wookie partner, Chewbacca. It will also show how they
became friends with Land Calrissian. The movie in theatres on 25 May.
Other
movies which might be hits in May include: Overboard, Bad Samaritan, The
Seagull, Book Club, Terminal, How to Talk to Girls at Parties and Future World.
