Comic Con: Again
The Movie Guy is going
back to Comic Con this year and I am really excited as it will take place in
Cape Town.
This is going to be a
completely different event with new experiences waiting for me. The event serves as a sort of spin-off of Comic Con Africa.
I hope to once again attend it, as I was officially invited back by the organisers for the
second year in a row.
This time around things will be bigger. I couldn’t believe it
when I got invited for a second time and I will once again be the
only Namibian press at the event makes it extra special. Last year I got to learn a
lot about what goes on behind the scenes at one of these big conventions.
I made friends and
contacts that benefited me personally and The Movie Guy benefited from it as
well. Comic Con Cape Town will be an event where people from across the
continent come together to celebrate movies, TV, comics, toys, anime, manga,
music, technology, gaming and everything pop culture.
Last year I got to see
some big stars like William Shatner, Nolan North, Troy Baker and many others in person. I got to mingle with
journalists, bloggers and entertainers from Africa and the world. I hope I get
to do that once again this year. Comic Con Cape Town will take place at the
Cape Town Stadium from 1 – 3 May 2020.
I hope that
sponsors will come on board to help me represent the Namibian media
and to be part of this big event in one of our neighbouring countries. My total
costs for the trip will be around N$10 000 this includes accommodation,
transport, food and extra fees that I will need to pay at the event.
The organisers will
once again cover my entrance costs and snacks will be provided at the event. I
really wish I can count on friends and family to help me make it to CCCT. To
sponsor me or for more information on the event and sponsoring send me an e-mail to themovieguy.nam@gmail or a WhatsApp
message to 085 722 8404. I really hope I can count on some sponsor, every
little bit counts.
