Charming, but deceitful
Ted Bundy did a lot of
gruesome things, but how was he able to close to so many so many women?
The new Netflix movie,
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and
Vile depicts how one of the most infamous serial killers of 1970s got to
when he finally admitted to various murders. Zach Efron stars as the titular
killer and he kills it. (no pun indented)
The movie suffers from
a lot, but Efron’s performance as Ted is one that will easily be remembered. He
embodies what we have learned about the serial killer over the years and
perfectly translates it to the screen.
Netflix have had some
hits and misses over the years, but those one certainly hits high. It might not
sit well with people who were expected a gruesome horror movie, but stands tall
as crime thriller or just a drama movie.
I definitely enjoyed
the film and its intriguing narrative had me easily hooked. This is the type of
movie that makes you realise that not all films need to have big action
set-pieces or overuse of CGI. It is a story and it kind of feels like you are
reading a book with audio.
I will definitely
recommend this to all crime thriller lovers and of course those who have been
caught up in all the recent Ted Bundy buzz.
My Rating: 7/10
