A marathon of movies

What is the longest you have ever been awake? Will you be able to watch 12 movies back-to-back without any sleep?

Ster-Kinekor Namibia will be bringing 31 hours of Marvel films to their screens on 25 April. These movies will be screened in the build up to Avengers: Infinity War. This will be the first attempt at a movie marathon in Namibia and it might be one for the record books.

The movies that will be screened during the marathon are: Iron-Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Marvel’s The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Black Panther.

The marathon will start Wednesday, 25 April at 15:30 at the Grove Mall of Namibia and end at 22:00 on Thursday, 26 April. Food, snacks, drinks and parking will be included in the ticket price of N$495. All participants need to stay awake as prizes will be given away after the marathon concludes.
According to Ster-Kinekor, they will give away N$2000 after every second movie and N$5000 before the start of Avengers:Infinity War. There are only 224 seats available and bookings have already started.

All movies will help the audience understand the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) better and will give them the opportunity to get to know the characters. These movies were chosen as they fit perfectly into the narrative of Avengers: Infinity War.

Infinity War is said to be the most anticipated movie for this year as it is culmination of all Marvel Studios movies. After 10 years of build up since Iron-Man, fans will finally get to see all these heroes on the screen fighting for a common cause.

In the movie The Avengers, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Black Panther, the Guardians of the Galaxy and other heroes must ally themselves to face a common enemy, Thanos. The Black Order and their leader, Thanos are looking to collect all Infinity Stones.

He plans on balancing the universe and changing things to how he sees it should be. This might mean it is the end of the line for some of our favourite superheroes. The movie will be a big event and it has already outsold all other comic book movies.
