A Hero’s End
Endings aren’t always
fun, but sometimes they are necessary to start over. Avengers: Endgame might be the end of era, but it’s the start of something new.
Marvel Cinematic
Universe’s Infinity Saga came to an end a little over a week ago and it finally
ties up some loose ends from Avengers:
Infinity War and other MCU titles. The movie took some unconventional steps with its
storytelling, but that’s exactly what the fans needed.
Some might hate it
while others completely love it and thank goodness I fall under the latter. The
movie is a true spectacle and went beyond my wildest expectations. It made me
feel like a kid again, including all the tears I had to hold back (I might have
let a few run loose).
The storytelling, the
pacing, the characters, the direction, the action-set pieces and humour is far superior
from any movie I have seen in 2019. I enjoyed Infinity War, but Endgame
took things to another level.
The Russo brothers
were the definitely the best choice as directors for both movies, because they followed their
heart and still delivered something for the fans of the franchise. Robert
Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evan, Jeremy Renner, Mark
Ruffalo, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan and Paul Rudd served as the perfect
ensemble to lead the story.
The movie offered a
few twists and tied up some emotional story arcs, thus giving the characters,
especially the leading three, a well-deserved sent-off. I do not want to give
away too much, but I think Thor might just be spirit animal now. And Tony’s ultimate sacrifice
shows just how much the character has grown since the franchise started in
2008.
Adrift in space with
no food or water, Tony Stark sends a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen
supply starts to dwindle. Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers -- Thor, Black
Widow, Captain America and Bruce Banner -- must figure out a way to bring back
their vanquished allies for an epic showdown with Thanos -- the evil titan who
decimated the planet and the universe.
My Verdict
The movie is all I
ever wanted and so much. I have no critic, just a little sadness. I would
recommend this movie to everyone, but you should probably watch Infinity War first. I can re-watch this
film over and over again.
My Rating: 10/10 –
