Kingsman: The Golden Circle
So the Kingsman are back and this time they
face a threat that wiped out all their colleagues and are about to wipe out a
lot more people.
The movie
starts out with a spectacular scene, which seems to be taken right out of a spy
comic book. The main protagonist, Eggsy Aka Galahad, is now a full blown spy
for the Kingsman after he saved the
world. This however does not last long
and that’s where the main storyline kicks off.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is a special effects master piece, unfortunately
this cuts away some of the character development and storyline. It definitely
has scenes that are a million times better than its predecessor, but that is
not enough to make up for a flaw-filled film.
The movie
once again serenades us with humour that’s made especially for the film, it is
not too dark nor too late (it is somewhat in a grey area). The returning cast
members are again spectacular in their roles; unfortunately the same can’t be
said about the new cast members.
It’s not
that the cast sucks, the characters just aren’t memorable enough. The main villain
definitely cannot compare to Samuel L. Jackson’s Richmond Valentine in the
first film. Luckily the film brings back Colin Firth as the original Galahad,
also known as Harry.
The film
might be filled with flaws, but it is still a joy to watch. If you are into spy
comicbook-based action movies, than this is definitely a must see. Personally I
would not mind watching over and over again, until my head explodes. I just
love me some spy movies. I rate it 7.2 out of 10.
