Boo 2! A Madea Halloween, the review
Tyler Perry
is back and Mabel "Madea" Simmons is funnier than ever, that’s if you
are a fan of hers.
The movie
starts out with a predictable story, but luckily it provides a few laughs along
the way. It’s a sequel to Tyler Perry’s horror-comedy of 2016. In my honest
opinion, I think the movie has a much weaker plot and story than any other
Madea film. It seems like the production crew just wanted to finish the filming
and go home.
The movie
once again proves that although Madea is a funny character, the film cannot
survive without a deep emotional story at the centre. I know it probably should
not be compared to other black people centred films, but it’s just a total mess.
I love the
spirit of Halloween, all the goblins, skeletons, ghosts, monsters, etc, but I
have been disappointed when it gets mixed with comedy. Lately it seems as if
horrors and comedies should just be separated.
Tyler Perry
once again proves that Madea only works in a grounded story, where you actually
get the time to know and relate to the characters. Sorry to all of those who
felt like they lost their box office money to a cinematic flop, at least you
got a few laughs.
The movie
might still be good enough for all Madea and Halloween fan and it does provide
some entertainment. At least just consider watching another movie before you
regret wasting your time and money. I’ll give this movie 2.9 out of 10.
Tiffany
goes to a frat party at a haunted campground. Madea, Bam, Hattie, and Joe
venture out after her and the group must run for their lives when monsters,
goblins, and the boogeyman are unleashed.
