The Hitman’s Bodyguard, the review
Action,
profanity, drama and a whole lot more, that’s what you can find in the latest
action comedy film in theatres. The Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson led film
is definitely one for the record books, but that might not be a good thing.
2017 has
pretty much delivered a bucket load of cinematic failures, but we’re not going
to look at that. The Hitman’s Bodyguard is another okay-ish received
blockbuster, but it’s not a complete failure.
The two
lead actors definitely delivered some of their best acting, but unfortunately
the writing and directing isn’t up to par. The movie has a sloppy storyline and
a predictable ending, which might make the first two acts seem like a trailer.
Is it worth
your money? I think it is, if you really want to watch another action comedy
where enemies learn to be friends. It’s actually really funny at times and the
action scenes do steal the show, but I have a feeling this won’t be the film of
the year.
It’s definitely
a lot weaker than the critically praised Baby Driver, but it’s still great to
watch at the silver screen with the surround sound. Perhaps we’ll look back a
few years from now and realise that it’s still a fun movie to watch.
I’ll give
it 5.4 out 10. So it’s definitely worth the watch and cinema lines.
