American Made, the review
Can the US
make any good things? I sometimes doubt that, I mean they made Donald Trump
their president, but then again South Africa made Jacob Zuma their president.
One thing I
can applaud USA for, is their movie making skills. They know how to make the
world pay for films that has nothing to do with us, but everything to do with
them. I guess I can’t judge, I’m a sucker for a good movie and that’s exactly
what American Made is.
It is a
compelling true story with a stellar cast. I know we’ve all complained that Tom
Cruise plays the same character in each of his movies. Well this one is pretty
much the same, but it’s still a great and worthwhile film.
The
storyline is touching and it might just inspire you to work for the government
or against it. I honestly love the movie. And it being based on real events
makes the suspense and thrill so much better. It’s worth every penny to watch
it at a cinema, just turn a blind eye to “slightly” overpriced snacks.
It is a
must see and I promise it’s much more of an action movie than most of the
blockbusters that came out this year. Like I said before, the casting is
excellent and the direction is top-notch. This is a movie not to be missed. In
a world full of superheroes and robots that turn into cars, this is one of the
few real hero stories (the main character is should probably not be seen as a hero
or role-model).
So get your
butt off the coach and treat yourself to a cinematic experience this week. Life’s
short, so watch as many movies as possible. I’ll rate American Made 8.4 out of
10.
