The Best for Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day is tomorrow and since it's in the middle of the month, not everyone can afford expensive dinners and flowers.
So you can do what I usually do, find the best romantic movies to enjoy with your partner on the special day of love. The following five films have been voted as some of the best romantic movies to enjoy on the coach along with the one you love and to be honest I love all five of them. So, get out the popcorn and chocolates for a night of Hollywood entertainment!
The Notebook
Known as the film that made all the ladies fall in love with Ryan Gosling, this movie is a pure romance drama that fits perfectly into Valentine's Day. The movie is set in the 1940's and tells the story of mill worker Noah and a rich girl, Allie, who are in love but her parents do not approve.
When Noah leaves to fight in World War II, it seems as if there affair has come to an end. Allie gets involved with another man, but when Noah returns, they realise their love is far from over. This movie creates a sense of what pure love can be like.
Titanic
This well-known romantic disaster flick is loved worldwide, regardless of its tragic ending. The film is set on the Titanic and tells the story of how Jack falls in love with Rose. This movie is still popular and ideal for a couch date. Just don't forget the tissues.
The Proposal
If you are not in the mood for a soppy romantic movie, try this Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds romantic comedy. It delivers a lot of laughs and it is great to help you unwind after a stressful day.
Faced with deportation to Canada, Margaret propositions her secretary Andrew, to pretend to be her fiancee. He agrees, but has a few conditions, including her meeting his family. In the face of a suspicious immigration official, they stick to their wedding plans, regardless of all the mishaps.
Sleepless in Seattle
Widow Sam and his son Jonah move to Seattle. One night, Jonah calls in to a radio show seeking a new wife for his father. Reporter Annie Reed hears Sam speak and falls for him, even though she is engaged to another man. Unsure of where all this might lead, she writes Sam a letter asking him to meet her at the Empire State Building on Valentine's Day.
Deadpool
This might seem like an odd choice, but it is a romantic comedy with a superhero lead character.
This one is definitely more for the guys, but it has a true love story at its core. Superhero Deadpool, must track down Ajax who kidnapped the love of his life. The film might seem over the top, but it delivers some excitement to a boring date.
