Thor: Ragnarok, the review
Ah, the God
of Thunder or is it lightning. I think it should be lightning, since well he is
mostly surrounded by lightning.
Thor: Ragnarok sends the prince of Asgard on a trip that he never
expected. Director Taika Waititi gives us a side of the Marvel Cosmic Universe
that will make you scream of excitement. It has all the beautiful colours of
the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise
and all the awesome characters of the Thor
franchise (well some of them end up dying).
Ragnarok is exciting, entertaining and really funny. I
mean really really funny, it makes all the other MCU movies look like soap
operas. Waititi completely revamped the Thor series and made the absurd
character less serious.
Throw in a
few awesome Loki and Hulk scenes and you have the perfect space opera comedy.
New characters like Jeff Goldblum’s, The Grandmaster; Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie
and Waititi’s Korg are scene stealers.
They all
make loving characters that you easily grow fond of, whether it’s The
Grandmasters over eccentric behaviour; Korg’s soft, but awesome voice or
Valkyrie being a total badass while she’s fighting mid-air. This movie is a
total hit, with few flaws
You also
get amazing cameos from Doctor Strange and Odin. Idris Elba as Heimdall is
another exciting part of the movie. This is one of the few MCU films that
brings a memorable villain to the silver screen. Cate Blanchett’s Hela is storm
to be reckoned with and Thor is the only one stupid enough to face the storm.
This movie
offers breath-taking sceneries and a storyline that makes Hulk relevant again.
Waititi is definitely one of the best MCU directors and this movie outshines
most of the other MCU movies. I would definitely watch it over and over again.
This movie deserves 9.7 out of 10.
Imprisoned
on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly
gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow
Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent
the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian
civilization.
