Very Nice… a sequel
He’s back and almost nicer than ever, but nothing can live up to the original Borat move.
The mockumentary movie
once again explores various political organisations and politicians to push
them into a sticky corner. From racist songs to themes of paedophilia, the
movie has it all, but you know – as a joke.
This is the movie we
didn’t know we needed, but it definitely shines a lot of light on American
politics, policies and the Covid-19 pandemic. Cohen goes to extreme measures to
expose those in the high tower.
The movie might not
live up to its predecessor, but it surely gives us new memorable Borat moments.
I don’t want to give away too much, but I spent most of the movie laughing,
which is good thing.
We didn’t really get a
lot of movies this year and that’s what makes Borat Subsequent Moviefilm special. It gives us a break from the mess that’s all around us. It
gives us time to reflect on life and what still makes it kind of beautiful.
This might not be a movie for everyone,
because many will be offended by the lengths, Cohen goes. Some scenes might
make you cringe will others will make you think, “wtf is wrong with this guy?”
All in all, it is fairly entertaining.
My Verdict
Do not watch this movie if you are easily
offended. It definitely isn’t for everyone, while some might find certain
scenes funny, others will find it offensive. I personally love the movie, but its
predecessor was much better. If you liked the first movie, then you might be
interested in checking out this one as well.
My Rating: 7.5 out 10 – Really Good
