Christmas is a time of love, laughter and joy and there is no better way to do it than with your favourite holiday movie.
If you are going the spend this Festive Season at home, then spending time binge watching movies and TV-shows is probably on your Christmas wish list.

Christmas movies are simply the best when you just want find some cheer after a long and draining year. To make choosing the greatest festive films easier, we compiled a list of the all time best Christmas movies. These are the movies a lot of us grew up on and we will cherish them for many more Christmases to come. Here they are:

Elf
This is probably one of the movies on the list. Will Ferrell brings child like wonder to movie that is actually meant for adults. Buddy the Elf and his friends and family makes you rediscover how wonder Christmas can be. This is surely one for the books and it entertains everyone, young and old.

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas
This might be confusing, as the Grinch had been in two blockbusters. If you enjoy animation than the most recent one might be most fun, but the one we chose is the film with Jim Carrey in the titular role. The movie is simply hilarious and Carrey being his usual self makes the movie so much more fun. We do not hate Christmas, but we love the Grinch. Dr. Seuss’ story gets life and it also gives movie lovers a brilliant Christmas movie.

Home Alone
This is a classic Christmas movie and one that should be watched by everyone. It is probably one of the movies that all 90s kids will remember and arguably the best or second best Christmas movie of all time. It gave us an amusing story with comedic pranks, laughter and a few memes. Although the main focus is not on Christmas itself, the movie is still fun to watch and will never be forgotten. It has few sequels, but none can live up to the original.

The Nightmare before Christmas
This is probably one of the weirdest movies to ever make it to silver screen, but it has left a lasting legacy. Tim Burton gave moviegoers a fun, dark, twisted and funny Christmas movie. This might not be enjoyed by children, but it can certainly be entertaining for adults. Some might say it is a Halloween movie, but it is clearly a Christmas movie.

The Santa Clause
Where did Santa Clause come from? Why is he still alive after all these years? Tim Allen answers all these questions when he becomes the new Santa Clause. It is the story about living up to someone else’s ideals and finally finding you true self. This comedy has been a hit since it first came out and after a few sequels it is still fun to watch.

The Polar Express
Based on book with the same The Polar Express is one of the best motion-captured animated films. Tom Hanks plays multiple roles and he is excellent in all of them. This movie has heart and it might just let a tear roll down your face. If you need to cry a little, then definitely consider this one.

The Nativity Story
This is the movie that shows what Christmas is really all about, the birth of Christ. The movie was not well received by critics, but was loved by the Christian community. A lot of us know the story of the nativity and this film depicts it in a beautiful way. Mary, Joseph and the story of the birth of Jesus is shown in detail and the struggles they had to face after his birth.

Love Actually
There is nothing like romance during the festive season. You cannot have a Christmas movie marathon without Love Actually. It is one of the most beloved Christmas romantic comedies ever made. It has an ensemble cast with different storylines that come together to make your heart melt. This is another must watch film for this Christmas.

Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Two classic animated films that will steal the hearts of every child. Both are classics and go together very well. A lot of TV channels usually air reruns of both, so you do not have to go look for them. These films are perfect for spreading some Christmas joy and they can be enjoyed by the whole family. They are both short and can be watched back-to-back.

Die Hard
This is not your typical Christmas movie, but it is certainly one of the best. Die Hard stole the hearts of fathers and sons when it first came out. It is one of the best Bruce Willis films to date and nothing says Christmas like an over the top action film. Today this movie is enjoyed by families worldwide, just be careful of all the violence in the movie, it actually is not family friendly.
