Not Too Impossible
Tom Cruise
is back as Ethan Hunt and this time the stakes are higher and he has to start
facing the consequences of his previous actions.
Mission:
Impossible – Fallout is actually what you would expect from Cruise and his
team, but also so much more. They amped up the action included more death
defying stunts and it’s all wrapped up in a story that might nearly leave you in
tears inside the theatre.
Cruise once
again proves why he doesn’t need a stunt-double for his tricks. In the movie he
flew a helicopter by himself, jumped over buildings, did a HALO jump and had a
high speed chase on a motorcycle with no helmet on! That is just crazy for a
man who is in his mid-50s, but those are the things that give the Mission:
Impossible films their charm.
You just
can’t wait to see what crazy thing Cruise will do next and that makes the whole
movie an exciting spectacle. Christopher McQuarrie knew what he wanted for the
film and he totally succeeded. It’s a movie with heart, pain, thrills,
suspense, comedy, drama, action and so much more.
The cast
perfectly complements each other and the addition of Henry Cavill and Angela
Bassett is definitely a plus, also the return of Michelle Monaghan as Julia
Meade adds more to the movie’s grounded approach. This also allows the film to
take a dive into Ethan’s backstory.
In the
movie Ethan Hunt and the IMF team join forces with CIA assassin August Walker
to prevent a disaster of epic proportions. Arms dealer John Lark and a group of
terrorists known as the Apostles plan to use three plutonium cores for a
simultaneous nuclear attack on the Vatican, Jerusalem and Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
When the weapons go missing, Ethan and his crew find themselves in a desperate
race against time to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.
The movie
has twists and turns and although some things are a little predictable, it is
still awesome to watch. The Mission: Impossible franchise is probably one of
the few movie series’ to get better with each instalment. Fallout is a definite
must watch and re-watch. I’ll give it 9.9 out of 10.
