The Best Christmas Movies Ever

Barry de Klerk – If you are not going anywhere during the holidays, then spending your time binge watching movies and TV-shows is probably the best way to spend your time.
I compiled a list of the best Christmas movies to help you make a choice on what to watch while you are bored at the. The list is not in any particular order, but they represent the movies I loved watching while growing up.

Elf
This is probably one of my most favourite films, I love watching it over and over again. Will Ferrell is hilarious as Buddy the Elf and rest of the cast are ready to spread some Christmas cheer. This movie will entertain everyone, young and old.

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas
This movie is simply hilarious, with Jim Carrey being his usual self in the titular role. This not only breathed new love into a beloved Dr. Seuss story, it also gave viewers something fun as Christmas movie.

Home Alone
This is probably the one movie all 90s kids will remember. It gave us an amazing story with comedy, heart and cool traps. Although the main focus is not on Christmas itself, the characters are still fun to watch and will never be forgotten. It has few sequels, but none can live up to the original.

The Nightmare before Christmas
This is probably one of the weirdest movies to ever make it to silver screen, but it has left a lasting legacy. Tim Burton gave moviegoers a fun, dark, twisted and funny Christmas movie. This might not be for children, but it can certainly be enjoyed by adults.

The Santa Clause
Where does Santa Clause come from? Why is he still alive after all these years? Tim Allen answers all that questions in The Santa Clause. This comedy has been a hit since it first came out and after a few sequels it is still fun to watch.

The Polar Express
Based on book with the same The Polar Express gave us one of the best motion-captured animated films. Tom Hanks plays multiple roles and he is excellent in all of them. This movie has heart and it might just let a tear roll down your face.

The Nativity Story
This is the one movie that shows what Christmas is all about, the birth of Christ. The movie was not well received by critics, but was loved by the Christian community. Mary, Joseph and the story of the birth of Jesus is shown in detail and the struggles they had to face after his birth.

Love Actually
There is nothing like romance during the festive season. This is one of the most beloved Christmas romantic comedies ever made. It has an ensemble cast and a storyline that will melt your heart. This is another must watch film for this Christmas.

Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Two classic animated films that will steal the hearts of every child. These films are perfect for spreading some Christmas joy and they can be enjoyed by the whole family. They are both short and can be watched back-to-back.

Die Hard
This is not your typical Christmas movie, but it is certainly one of the best. Die Hard stole the hearts of fathers and sons when it first came out. It is one of the best Bruce Willis films to date and nothing says Christmas like an over the top action film.
